Born from a Deeply Personal Journey

Joe Casamassima and Greg Giemza were college roommates in 1999. Around that same time, Joe's mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and Greg's mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's.

Inspired by years of participation in the annual MS walk and feeling called to make a bigger impact, in 2007 Joe completed a walk across the United States to raise funding and awareness for MS. Three years later, in 2010, Greg and Joe crossed the country on bicycle in support of MS and Parkinson's research.

Since then, they've logged countless miles through walks, runs, and rides, turning every mile into a message of hope.

Joe Casamassima

Since his mother's diagnosis in 1998, Joe has dedicated himself to raising awareness and funding for Multiple Sclerosis. His advocacy has taken many forms: walking across the country, cycling coast-to-coast, and participating in countless marathons and races. What began as a personal mission has become a family affair. Based in Northern Virginia, Joe, his wife, and their children continue turning every mile into an opportunity to support the cause.

Co-Founder

Greg Giemza

Greg's journey began when his mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2000. Since then, Greg and his family have been devoted participants in supporting Parkinson's research, including the Unity Walk in New York City's Central Park. Inspired by Joe's cross-country walk, Greg dreamed of a similar journey by bicycle. The two set out from New Jersey and retraced the original route all the way to San Francisco. Today, Greg is a 4th-grade teacher in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
